High Performance Peptide Mapping Using Varian Capillary LC Columns

Improved Analysis of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons with the Varian 920-LC and Pursuit™ PAH Column
30 Jul 2008: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are contaminants found in drinking water, ground water, soils and sludges. PAHs are frequently monitored due to their persistence and potential carcinogenic properties. HPLC with UV and/or fluorescence detection is one of the most useful techniques for their determination and is widely used in environmental laboratories. This application note describes an HPLC technique developed using the Varian 920-LC liquid chromatograph and a Varian Pursuit PAH column.

Highly sensitive and selective instruments are necessary to measure the low concentrations of impurities. In this application note, the USP monographs' Limit Test for 4-isobutylacetophenone in ibuprofen was carried out with Varian 920-LC liquid chromatograph and a Varian Pursuit C18 column.
